About Us...

Phoenix Upholstery Services is a family run business based in Whitchurch Bristol, that was started by Paul Ross around 40 years ago. Self taught, he has completed some amazing pieces of furniture and with his attention to detail, had grown his business through word of mouth. Paul has had another passion in life of driving coaches. But even going on tours and day trips has not stopped him from taking a job along with him. Where other drivers would sit in their vehicles in a coach park, Paul would have his side lockers up and setting up a mobile workshop there and then and having the feature of using the vehicles onboard air tanks to run a staple gun.
Throughout the years the family business has grown with another member joining the company Matthew. Following in his fathers footsteps of driving coaches and working as an upholsterer.

Here at Phoenix Upholstery Services, we aim to assist our customers with the transition of rejuvenating their loved furniture so that they feel warm and comfortable in the space of their own home or workplace. We pride ourselves on an open, honest appraisal service from the initial visit, from discussion as to materials (colours, textures and durability), to arranging a free convenient collection and delivery services to both our domestic and commercial customers. We can offer an 'Out of Hours' service to allow our customers the opportunity to continue their business with minimal disruption.

We know that with all furniture, after a while you can find that fabrics can deteriorate, webbing's can stretch and foams & fillings can break down leaving you with a very uncomfortable piece of furniture.
Choosing to get your furniture recovered and repaired compared to replacing it, has many environmental benefits. It is found that re-upholstering a piece of furniture not only extends the life of it, but has a huge effect on cutting down on emissions caused by manufacturing a new piece of furniture.

They say every year 1.6 million tonnes of furniture are thrown away, and only 17% ends up being recycled, most end up in a landfill or incinerated. Taking thought about trees that are required to build frames and the transportation of them over 1000's of miles contributing to greenhouse gasses and pollution. When we see a piece of furniture, 9/10 it requires only a replacement cover and a bit of extra support.

We have become more specialised in vintage vehicle restorations and have repaired and rejuvenated dozens of vehicles over the last few years, from Bristol RE's, VR Double Decker's, MW Coaches and Leyland Vehicles.

A NEW SERVICE COVERING THE SOUTH WEST

Throughout our time at Phoenix Upholstery Service, we have restored dozens of gym restoration projects and have now adapted our company vehicle to offer mobile gym repairs. We can now set up a workshop on site without disrupting your business and repair your gym equipment in the space of an hour compared to other upholstery services where machines will have to be put out of use for days whilst the pads are repaired off site. Allowing for a quick turn around will put the machine back in action within the hour which benefits users if you have only one of each machine.

Check out our Mobile Gym Repairs page for further info.
